OBJECTIVES
At the end of this presentation, the audience will be able to:
1) Discuss the values conflict that arises for practitioners when a patient with a DNR order attempts suicide,
2) Formulate arguments for and against respecting the DNR order in the context of a suicide attempt, and
3) Propose a means of analyzing and resolving the ethical dilemma that honors both values.
