Hello, Fellow Alumni!
My years in the UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences began in the late 1970’s, when I traveled from Philadelphia to New Mexico to be a resident. I wanted to be in this department because of how much it valued innovative and committed community practice and focused on benefiting the people of this state.
Today, our chairman, Mauricio Tohen, shares the same important values that flowed through all of our efforts decades ago; these principles remain paramount in the Department.
This year, we celebrated our department’s 50th anniversary, as one of the UNM School of Medicine’s original departments. An important piece of this effort was reaching out to all of our alumni – residents, fellows, faculty and staff, from the past 50 years. We did well, but we still need your help. If you are in touch with people who were unable to attend the celebration, please reach out to them or send us names so we can be in touch.
If you have thoughts of how to continue the connections we began and to grow our alumni connections, please let me know by clicking here.
I look forward to the many exciting possibilities of the next 50 years.
