Hello, Fellow Alumni!
My years in the UNM Department of Psychiatry began in the late 1970’s, when
I traveled from Philadelphia to New Mexico to be a resident. I wanted to be in this department because of how much it valued innovative and committed community practice and focused on benefiting the people of this state.
Today, we have a new chair, Mauricio Tohen, who shares the same important values that flowed through all of our efforts decades ago; these principles remain paramount in the department.
This year, we’re beginning preparations for our department’s 50th anniversary, which also coincides with the UNM School of Medicine’s celebrations. An important piece of this effort is reaching out to all of our alumni – residents, fellows, faculty and staff – to make sure our plans for own anniversary events are meaningful and that many of you will come to celebrate.
We need your help! Please click here to complete a short survey that will help us in our planning. Please fill it out and, if you are in touch with other alumni, pass it on.
I look forward to seeing you at our Department of Psychiatry 50th anniversary celebration April 24-26, 2015.
