Support the development of new behavioral health clinicians and paraprofessionals

Examples of current activities:

  • Rural Residency Program: Giving psychiatry residents real-world experience working in rural communities
  • Wraparound/Systems of Care: training, coaching and supporting child and adolescent mental health providers around the state in the Wraparound/Systems of Care models

Create opportunities for community, self-help, peer and family support

Examples of current activities:

  • Suicide Prevention/Mental Health Early Intervention Trainings:  Teaching community members how to identify the early warning signs for those at risk of suicide and/or development of a mental illness

Build the capacity of current medical professionals to provide behavioral healthcare

Examples of current activities:

  • Child/Adolescent Telehealth Training and Consultation Series: Training and support for current medical (non-behavioral health) providers regarding basic behavioral health care in their communities
  • School Nurse Consultations: Giving school nurses across the state the opportunity to consult with a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in order to increase their competency and confidence

Provide support to and increase the skills of current behavioral health clinicians

Examples of current activities:

  • Child/Adolescent Telehealth Training and Consultation Series: Providing training and support to increase the skills of current mental health providers to provide behavioral health care in their communities
