Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Teleconference Series

The Center for Rural & Community Behavioral Health (CRCBH), in collaboration with the NM Department of Health - Office of School & Adolescent Health (OSAH), is excited to present the Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health Teleconference Series. Through this series, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, counselors, nurses, anthropologists, and/or consumer advocates review a variety of behavioral health topics related to children, adolescents and their families. Special attention is given to:

·         Psychopharmacology

·         Psychotherapeutic interventions

·         Assessment and diagnosis

·         Substance abuse

·         Classroom management

·         Development of community resources

 Each session involves a concise presentation of the topic with ample opportunities for case discussion and consultation. Providers working in primary care and schools as well as behavioral health agencies are urged to connect and receive continuing education credit for their participation.

This year we are offering 60-minute teleconferences on the first Wednesday, second Tuesday, third Wednesday, and fourth Thursday of each month from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.

These teleconferences are via Adobe Connect and telephone. Please follow the instructions provided below (as well as in the monthly announcements) to connect in the way you choose.

Adobe Connect:

  3. Input your name (first and last) in the Name box
  4. Input the room passcode, which is: child
  5. Press the "Enter Room Button"

Once you’re in the room and the audio conference has been started (usually 10-15 minutes before), you’ll be prompted to join the audio conference. You’ll have 3 options:

  1. Having the system call you at your direct line by inputting your phone number
  2. Dialing in following the directions(phone number, room number and participant code, are provided when this option is selected)
  3. Listening via computer

All sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes and begin at noon on each day.


ACCME Accreditation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the University of New Mexico Office of Continuing Medical Education and the UNM Center for Rural & Community Behavioral Health. The UNM Office of Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physician.

The Office of Continuing Medical Education designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Important Note: CME credits are accepted by the NM Psychology Examiners Board and the NM Nursing Board.

NM Counseling & Therapy Practice Board Accreditation
This activity has been approved to provide Continuing Education Units (CEU) by NM Counseling & Therapy Board through Dr. Avron Kriechman at the UNM Center for Rural & Community Behavioral Health.

APA Accreditation
UNM CRCBH is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. UNM CRCBH maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
