Project ECHO is the internationally-renowned telemedicine program based at the University of New Mexico that provides medical consultation via video technology to underserved and rural areas of New Mexico in 19 specialties.
Fellows are trained to provide psychiatric expertise to the various telemedicine specialty clinics such as Hepatitis C, Chronic Pain, Complex Care, Dementia and Congestive Heart Failure/Diabetes. They become facile with this emerging technology and format for delivering care, which are increasingly incorporated into health delivery systems around the world.
