Peggy Rodriguez, MD,
PGY 4 and Chief Resident, VAMC (2011-2012)
Our program prides itself on attracting outstanding young physicians committed to participating in an exciting and innovative training experience and in making a difference in the lives of underserved populations. Our clinical services feature a wide array of culturally-diverse patients drawn from community-based programs and our university community.
We have developed an excellent national reputation in many areas. Among these are:
- Rural psychiatry
- Psychotherapy training
- Biological and psychosocial research
- Top fellowship opportunities in geriatrics, addictions, and child psychiatry
Our program is committed to the education of trainees as the primary mission. To support this, we have unique programs including:
- Use of teletechnologies at CRCBH and Project ECHO
- the Institute for the Development of Education and Advancement of Science in Psychiatry
- A close partnership with a nationally recognized flagship VA medical center
