Congratulations to David Graeber, M.D., Professor of Psychiatry and Division Director for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, who was selected as this year’s Milton Rosenbaum Faculty Award winner at our department’s recent resident graduation ceremony.
Milton Rosenbaum, M.D., served as an extraordinary clinician, mentor, and leader in the field of psychiatry for more than 60 years. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Rosenbaum started the psychiatry departments at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. He was also a Visiting Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Puerto Rico, the University of Australia, Georgetown University, and the University of Kentucky, Marshall University. And, and for eighteen years, he served as Professor Emeritus at the University of New Mexico Medical School from which he retired at the age of 91. He earned many awards during his career including the American College of Psychiatry’s Lifetime Distinguished Fellow Award and was elected to the American Psychiatric Association as a Distinguished Life Fellow.
Each spring, in honor of Dr. Rosenbaum’s many contributions to our department, a special award is given to a faculty member who best exemplifies the “competence, curiosity, generativity and generosity” Dr. Rosenbaum demonstrated over the many years of his distinguished career
