Deborah Altschul, Ph.D., to Present at University-wide, Academic Symposium

Congratulations to Deborah Altschul, Ph.D. , who has been selected to present at a symposium that is part of the festivities marking the inauguration of UNM’s new President Robert G. Frank  November 16 from 2:00 – 4:30 pm.

Dr. Altschul will be a panelist for “Inspire: Flagship in Community, Health Sciences Center,” which will be held at HSC’s Domenici Auditorium. The panel will explore how academic medical centers affect and interact with their communities. Joining Dr. Altschul will be keynote speaker Charles “Chip” Rice, President of the Health Services University of the Armed Services.

• Michel Disco (College of Pharmacy)
• and David Sklar (Emergency Medicine)

They will discuss community projects relating to health care, research, education, and health policy.

According to Steven Adelsheim, M.D. , Director of the Department’s Center for Rural and Community Behavior Health, “Dr. Altschul has done an amazing job of building important collaborative relationships through her research efforts with many communities throughout the state, which have made a huge difference in the lives of many New Mexicans.”
