Deborah Dellmore, M.D. elected Chair of Medical School Curriculum Committee

Dr. Deborah Dellmore, Associate Professor in the UNM Department of Psychiatry, has been elected Chair of the UNM School of Medicine Curriculum Committee. She’ll take the helm beginning in January 2013.

According to the Undergraduate Medical Education website, the Committee, composed of faculty from throughout the School of Medicine as well as two student representatives, functions to

• design, develop, and oversee the undergraduate medical education (UME) curriculum
• develop and periodically review four year goals and objectives for the curriculum and determine the timing of the curriculum.
• coordinate responses to LCME recommendations
• monitor trends in medical education
• formulate major education policies and recommend for faculty vote
• review existing policies and revise as needed
• review and act on evaluation and outcomes data

In addition, the Committee participates in due process activities as described in policies.
