Welcome to Our New Chair: Mauricio Tohen, M.D., Dr.P.H., M.B.A

Mauricio Tohen, M.D., Dr.P.H., M.B.A., is the new chair of the Department of Psychiatry at UNM’s Health Sciences Center. Dr. Tohen previously was the head of the Division of Mood & Anxiety Disorders and the Krus Endowed Tenured Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Born and raised in Mexico City, he earned his medical degree from the National University of Mexico and Doctorate in Public Health (epidemiology) from Harvard University. Dr. Tohen’s postdoctoral training includes a residency in Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and a fellowship at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Tohen also earned an M.B.A. degree from the Indiana University Kelly School of Business.
