Feedback is an important tool for instruction and learning. Providing it effectively is a skill that deserves attention and practice. This special interactive seminar, with mock scenarios and a short didactic, encourages faculty and residents to support a safe learning environment and to practice giving Advocacy Inquiry feedback in clinical settings.
Pamela Arenella, MD, Deborah Dellmore, MD, and Jeff Katzman, MD, have based their seminar on lessons learned during the week-long Harvard Center for Medical Simulation Instructor Course and the UNM-wide “Feedback Initiative.” The three presenters are leaders in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences education program: Pamela Arenella, Director of Residency Training; Deborah Dellmore, Director of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry; and Jeff Katzman, Vice Chair for Education and Academic Affairs.
