Your training:

Through the highest level of scholarship, development of rigorous critical thought, and relevant direct practice, you will gain the clinical skills, judgment, demeanor, and professional ethics to provide the utmost quality care to patients with addictive disorders.

Our core curriculum covers:

  • Residential rehabilitation services
  • Outpatient detox, pharmacology, psychosocial treatment
  • Medication assisted treatment: Methadone and Buprenorphine
  • Consultation Liaison (C/L)
  • Dual diagnosis outpatient clinic
  • Rural psychiatry outreach program
  • Community clinic
  • Adolescent addiction
  • Protected research and didactic time
  • Addiction Journal Club and Multidisciplinary Case Conference

Our fellowship provides extensive training in screening, evaluation and treatment of addictive disorders. We have a talented and skilled faculty, who are dedicated to education, research and clinical pursuits in the addictions. Fellows receive the bulk of their training at the following sites: University Psychiatric Center, Addiction and Substance Abuse Programs (ASAP), Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center, Children's Psychiatric Center.
